​​Heritage Guide trainees at a social evening last night at The Star Hotel, meeting members of Southampton Tourist Guides Association. A good time was had by all and Jean created a great quiz. Trainees were pleased to hear they didn't have to hand it in!

A busy evening for the Heritage Guide trainees. First with a talk at Southampton City Archives by Jo Smith City Archivist. Then a tour of the special collection with Vicki Green from the Central Library.
Followed by a trip over to the Art House Cafe for refreshments and a quiz and then a presentation by Louise Collins of The Marketing Collective on the use of social media to promote heritage events. The Jane Austen festival was used as a case study. Lastly came presentations by some of the students on ships (old and new), they had been asked to research. Phew...
