Armed Forces Day, Sunday, 1 July 2018

In support of Armed Forces day the Southampton Tourist Guides Association are leading FREE walks telling the story of Southampton in the Second World War.  Voluntary donations to Armed Forces charity partners welcomed.

Southampton was in the front line of defence during the dark days of the Second World War. It was raided 57 times. The town was UK's number one military port and home Spitfire production making it a target for the Luftwaffe. Medieval vaults became air raid shelters as the town turned itself into a military staging post preparing for D- Day.

Meet: Guildhall Square, Southampton
